I’m obviously not new to Fluther, but I think you’re all welcome here. We’ll try to budge up for you if you try to squeeze in for us.

You won’t feel like a refuge for long. Fluther is very welcoming. A great group of people who will soon feel like family to you.

I’m kind of happy we have a growing family now. Welcome refugees! :D

You don’t have to stay in your tent city unless you want to. :) We Flutherers are people just like you, and could easily have been your friends already if but you or we had found the other site first.

Not entirely, since we’ve been welcomed. But there is uncertainty, and some adjustments that’ve come with the move, so there definitely an element of that feeling.

@Father_Guido,...Look I appreciate brand-loyalty as much as anybody else but this is the “internets”.

@blondsjon..this may be the “internets” but it’s not where I spent damn near all of my spare time for the last 2 years. Hell, I found the love of my life on WIS.DM, hard to beat that!!

What was WIS.DMers & what happened to it?

Just so you are aware, I am the Goddess of Love here and expect to be treated as so. On Wednesdays I am to be feted with Pancakes and milk baths. Other than that, I am full of otter poop.

@Blondesjon , I do find it cool that we get nothing but comments…something WIS.DMers found most appreciative.

Hey guys! Am so gutted about wis.dm going down. Looks like we’ve got a few of us here already :) This site won’t compare but it looks like it could be good.

To be honest, I’m beginning to like this place….different, but I’m liking it.

@jonsblond yeah, I gathered that. I just wondered WHY it went down. Inquiring minds want to know.

I think it would be good to avoid the comparisons and just take everything at face value.

Also, I’m really digging on this live-action comment function. Especially since it takes me ages to comment, so I get to see what other people are saying in the meantime.

I surprised no one has told you that the assimilation process is like the Borg. Resistance is futile. You’ll discover it soon enough, though.

And yes, I do sort of feel like a refugee, but I think this could be fun. But I don’t really like the way this tiny avatar is as big as we can see it.I think it should at least be a little bigger on the profile or something. The “Live Preview” thing is awesome as is the speed of this site in comparison with the sluggish molasses-level speed of wis.dm

I came here from another Q&A site almost a year ago when it took a turn for the worse. I felt like a complete stranger (duh) and the format here was completely different, but within a couple of days it was like home. There are great people here who’ll be very happy to see some fresh faces. And there’s not a lot of cliquishness or competitiveness here, so anyone who shows goodwill and a willingness to fit in should blend right in.

It’s nice to see you all again! Who do you think was really huron?

@Dansedescygnes There is a way to see the avatar pics in their un-thumbnailed form. In Firefox you can right-click them, choose “copy image location”, paste into your address bar, delete the “_thumb” at the end of the address and hit return.
