What fun facts have you learned about your fellow Jellies?

@breedmitch sigh i’m sorry. I fail. I usually search them before I post them and this time I didn’t. I apologize in advance to anyone that isn’t happy about the repeat. Honest mistake (I mean it’s 2:15 in the morning!!). :).

No worries. I like repeat questions. It gives me a chance to dredge up my old ones. :)

I know JP looks like Buddy Holly.
I know Tits McGhee is an art student here in NY.
I know Allie’s mom works at UCDavis.
I know Ben’s mom likes museums.
I know Shilolo has one, no two, kids.
I know Uberbatman is awesome.
I know Mirza now goes by another name.
I know Gail.
I know Marina used to have “Sally Jessy” red glasses.
I know Andrew has mean cats.
I know Astrochuck is a mailman (and really old!).
I know Dave/Pup’nTaco’s work was recently shown at the Society of Illustrators (a friend of mine’s, too)
I know too much…

Whenever I try to anwer a question like this, I end up listing a lot of great people here on Fluther and also end up leaving out a lot of great people that deserve recognition also.

Discretion is the better part of valor and I like to err on the side of caution. With that in mind, I can safely say that everyone who I have interacted with on Fluther, at one time or another, has had a postive and memorable impact on me no matter how big or small that interaction was. You’re all very nice friends and I’m lucky to be a part of this community where I can share with all of you. I’ve learned much from my fellow Jellies in the collective and I’m grateful for it.

The thing that stands out for me was when I read the interview with @gailcalled and learned that she was 71. As a the typical 20-something internet junkie it’s really great that I can get a perspective from someone of a different generation when in real life I normally interact with everyone around the same age.

As silly as it sounds it kind of opened my eyes up to the idea that there are people of different ages on the internet and how the age gap on the internet affects what I read and see online. I think we all tend to assume everyone’s much like ourselves without information otherwise.

Whoa! Gailcalled is 71?! I was guessing at ages in my head recently and man I was way off on a number of people I think. I love the internet!

-GirlofScience is in fact a girl (as questioned in a recent thread by the blonde family I believe) and that she’s studying some kind of neurology
-Fireinthepriory’s “Jelly” avatar isn’t a stock avatar, she took that picture.
-uberbatman is younger than I took him for, but awesome
-elijiah has children, a few of them I think
-skfinkel went to my University (and I think she’s Ben’s mum)
