YOU STOLE MY QUESTION JELLY!!!! Pfffffft. Humph.
Oh please!!! LOL!! So, do you actually have an answer, or did you just come to troll my q…..?
I wish!! I really, really, really, really wish. But no. However, it appears as thought they like my boyfriend better. So I’m just going to drag him about whenever I’m outside.
Edited to add: I agree they are worse some places though. I was at a friend’s and slept with the door a tad open on accident. At home, I think I’d have been bitten, but there I woke up like a plague survivor.
@EmpressPixie LOL! Good idea, what’s he there for anyway, right? (tee hee!) ;P
@DutchCat Isn’t it funny that this site is full of jellies? LOL!
@JellyB Yeah! I noticed that! You’re cheating AGAIN!!
In answer to your question, I can’t remember the last time I had a mosquitoe bite…we can be in the middle of a cloud, and they don’t seem to bother me…
Cheating….pffft – you’re just jealous again…..‘cause you’re not a jelly….
Probably ‘cause you don’t eat peanut butter – your blood’s sour…
Jelly—I do too eat peanut butter! Just not in cookies. Bleh.
@DutchCat You’re missing out. I make the best peanut butter cookies this side of the Mississippi. :)
To answer the question, I am one of the lucky ones that hardly ever gets bit. My daughter and oldest son always get bit though. The only time that I ever have a problem with them is when we vacation in northern Wisconsin. It is the state bird you know!
@DutchCat Heh…..you’re indeed missing out…. ;P
@jonsblond Aw, one of my favourite online friends lives in Wisconsin!! I’ve never been there…....yet. :)
@jonsblond I know—my ex was from Minnesota and he said the mosquitoe was the state bird!
I don’t know what it is….I remember getting bit as a kid, but the reaction to it seemed to start fading as a young adult. And now the little kids will just get “eaten alive”—we’ll be in the same place, but I won’t breakout..
@JellyB You need to go someday, it’s beautiful! My husband and I hope to move there someday. Just remember to take some bug spray. :)
@DutchCat LMAO!!! I was hoping to attract Grogs….. ;P
And boohoo! I’ve already reached my question asking limit! Eh!!
Well, Jelly, no. Mosquitoes do not try to nom me.
I reached my question asking limit earlier this morning——it doesn’t last.
@please_not_to_ask2 I forgot, after how long could you ask again? What’s the time limit on the question asking ban?!?!
@JellyB – I don’t know. I took a nap. A long nap. Kind of. I had a horrible morning. Harumph!
@DutchCat – It’s not 24 hours. It’s like five or something, maybe more. I wasn’t gone that long.
@JellyB – well thank you. I did get my new phone!, but I can’t set it up because mi hermano is not here to set it up on the account for me. So I’m just sitting here staring at it like “beautiful new phone—I wonder if you’re fun to talk on…”
I’ve never heard of becoming immune to them.
Mosquitos attack me wherever I go, I believe it is because of my blood type, and how sweet it is. I literally have bite marks all over me within seconds of leaving my home, during the warm days. My husband never gets bit!
I have never become immune to mosquitos. I wish!
@lazydaisy Me neither really, but the ones at my house don’t seem to bite me that bad as those at SO’s mum’s place, wow, they’re potent over there! :D
@JellyB
Maybe they just have a sweet tooth
@casheroo I agree—some people seem more prone to reacting to the bites, but to me it seems to have something to do with age, and possibly the immune system kicking in….I still got bit in my 20’s and 30’s, but not so much any more.
Keep in mind that there are several mosquito species in the US that bite, including the imported tiger mosquito. Some of them have more severe bites than others.
The one positive to my contracting hepatitis back in 1980 is that ever since mosquitos leave me alone. I suppose my blood doesn’t smell as tasty anymore.
@syz I’m in South Africa. It’s weird how you find different mosquitoes from suburb to suburb though!
South Africa does not exist.
We’re not in Kansas anymore, Toto.
@syz DutchCat lives in denial. She thinks she lives in Kansas…..pffft….
@syz Well dang it! Where ARE we then??
Don’t get many mosquitoes here. Sure do at Lake Tahoe though.
@Dansedescygnes Pffft…..we have the suckers here…..another reason i like winter, no mosquitoes!!
They can’t handle the altitude.
@DutchCat you’re in SA D!! SA is Kansas, didn’t you know?
Yeah I do Jellers because they spray the heck out of the area. They usually all die so there are none.
@jellyb AGAIN?? I was just getting used to THIS place!
@DutchCat I don’t know where we are anymore! Grog says SA is on some planet called Cyris 2 or something is some other galaxy…. i’m lost….
