On one hand, I think they should honor their word… however, I’d be annoyed if it ended up being called “Limbaugh” under the same circumstances…
of course, that guy’s great
Most definately…the people have spoken.
@Likeradar now that is a scary scenario. He’s one person I’d like to forget. But I voted several times for Colbert and I would like them to respect the people’s choice.
Colbert knows how to energize and motivate his fan base in order to win such contests. He did it with the bridge in another country. Should he be rewarded for this? I’m not sure, but I would love to see Colbert as the module’s name nonetheless!
“Their word”? They specifically said:
NASA will take into consideration the results of the voting. However, the results are not binding on NASA and NASA reserves the right to ultimately select a name in accordance with the best interests of the agency, its needs, and other considerations. Such name may not necessarily be one which is on the list of voted-on candidate names. NASA’s decision shall be deemed final.
They should call it Serenity. Of course, this is coming from an ardent Browncoat. I think the whole name-it-Colbert thing is kind of dumb. Also a bit egotistical. I like Colbert, but I think he’s somewhat overrated. Popular, yes. Good, yes. But more popular than I can personally stomach at some times.
Here’s another vote for Serenity.
And yet another for Serenity
It’s yet another example of what happens when people VOTE.
So it’s a good thing. I’m sure the government noticed. Again.
Please, God, let it be Serenity. I might even start believing in you!
I’m fine either way—I can see their point if they go with Serenity and, as a browncoat, am totally pro-that-name. I mean, more than Colbert, how would we feel if someone put “your mom” and everyone else went for the joke?
SERENITY! I really wanted that one.
I can deal with Colbert…. but serenity. :(
