Can you raise Angora Goats in warm climates?

Can you raise them in Georgia (USA of course)?

Yes but they sweat.

Yes, but they do better in a dry climate. Here is some information.

Yes, they do well in warm climates, as long as you shear them in the spring. Be careful of worms in a more humid climate; they do seem more susceptible than dairy goats.

Pygoras and nigoras, with their African background, do even better in warm climates. I raise Nigoras in Southern CA, and they do just fine.

Just don’t let them go out in the rain.

Rain won’t hurt Angoras, although they don’t like it much. They need shelter from it, but a little wet won’t kill them.

No, wool shrinks in the rain so you lose half your investment. :)
