I was going to respond to your question until I noticed your avatar.
I would not choose an avatar that a group of people would be hurt by, and I choose not to respond to questions posted by someone who chooses to hurt others in this way.
Cellphones are really handy, dunno what i’d do without them if i wanted to get hold of my SO or something…. but the darn thang does annoy me too, sometimes i just have to switch it off ‘cause i don’t want to be bothered.
Internet, well, that’s been all positive, i think. It’s made business a lot easier, faster and simpler, and i’ve met people i never would have was it not for internet, so!
:)
The avatar is from one of the best bands ever. I have the sticker on my bike.
Considering I have a fair amount of clients that are on the west coast and I’m on the east coast, the internet makes my life a lot easier! I can send information back and forth without having to use Fed Ex to send the information back and forth and waiting for approvals that hard way. (the hard way is anything other than the internet!)
Cell phones are a love/hate thing, with me. I realize that they are great for emergencies, but some days, it never seems to stop ringing. I turn it off, frequently, just to get some peace and quiet. I don’t walk and talk, in a store. I refuse to answer in the bathroom and I hate using it in a restaurant. Now that my daughter is starting to drive (well…almost…she’s still in driver’s ed) it’s important for us to have a phone in case of emergencies.
Huge. I resisted getting a computer for the longest time because I knew how addicting it would be to sit down for hours and explore the world. Little did I know it would be even more than than, Television, movies, videos, music, live chat, socializing with people gone to all corners of the globe. I resisted getting a cell phone because at first I thought they were pretentious and I didn’t want to become a stumbling fool in public places, talking too loudly about groceries or whatever but I gave in and it’s been invaluable to getting me help when I’ve been lost or stranded or came across something unexpected and was able to reach someone immediately. Text has made quieter, more private conversation and more concise too, you really do have to get to the point when you’re down to a finger or two.
I think computers and cell phones have made my life better. I like having quick access to the Internet whether at home or on the road. I like being able to get in contact with my tech enabled friends and find myself getting a bit peeved at friends who don’t have it.
