If Noah, and the Ark have existed, I would belive that for insects and such he would take a colony of them, to assure the survival….
But I think it was a cruel trick to tell the dinosaurs to wai for the next boat…
A follow up question, how far down did Noah go? What about pairs of moths? Ants? All species of ants? Bacteria?
Logic dictates that there’s no way that story could ever be true.
and what about termites ? I mean the are were supposed to be built out of wood…
@Staalesen
The ship must of been huge with 7 of the clean animals, two of the rest and a colony of insects, what about fresh water fish?
It’s funny because creationists tend to say that Noah only brought in two of each kind (which is a broader category than species) and then, post-flood, all the kinds … what’s that word… changed? transformed? oh! evolved into all the million+ living species.
@Qingu Two of each kind yes. And I believe evolution is creation in progress.
@Michale, please define “kind.”
Obviously it’s not a species. Are we talking families? Orders? What level of genetic diversity constitutes a “kind”?
Also, are you a young-earther? Because if you are I’d love to hear how you account for the diversification of the scant few kinds it’s physically possible to fit inside that ark into the million+ species on Earth today (plus the dinosaurs and other millions of extinct species).
when i was 6 and heard this story i got very worried about the fish.
i asked my sunday school teacher if he brought them.
she said OF COURSE NOT, GOD GAVE THEM LOTS OF WATER…REMEMBER, THE EARTH FLOODED.
and i said FISH LIVE IN DIFFERENT KIND OF WATER AND THEN THEY WERE ALL MIXED TOGETHER…WHICH FISH DIED?
she was utterly stumped.
she yelled at me.
thats what i get for being a really smart 6 year old.
@Qingu Young Earth Creationists rank up there with people in the Flat Earth society with me, which makes about as much sense as the world being on the back of a giant elephant. I am a Theistic Evolutionist, a Christian, and a Metaversalist. http://www.metaversalism.com
@Michale, if you don’t believe the Bible about the shape of the earth, the age of the earth, the method of the earth’s creation (looks like metaversalists believe in creation ex-nihilo, which contradicts Genesis) ... why on earth do you choose to believe anything the Bible says about the flood story?
What is your methodology for picking and choosing which Biblical myths you believe?
