I see people all the time who have hit 1k points and am just curious how long it took? I’m sure the times very greatly from person to person.

-6 months or so.
(That’s a negative 6, by the way.)
I really don’t remember, drClaw. It will not take you long from the quality of your answers.
It took quite a long time to get to 1000 but much less to get to 2000.
It really depends on how active you are and what you share, people generally give lurve for insightfullness and humor. The more questions you answer, the quicker you’ll get there.
I honestly don’t remember how long it took.
It depends on your level of activity. I’ve been a Flutherite from the beginning (and I do mean beginning) but my lurve is “only” 1300. That’s because I do a lot of reading (some would say lurking) and not a whole lot of answering or asking. But, on the other hand, when I do write, I try to make my answers as useful as possible.
I’m quite proud of my “lurve average”
It doesn’t seem like it should take too long. It was two days to get 181. Just provide good input, and don’t worry about points…unless you can spend them. Can you (we)?
I think it maybe took a month or so…also, the 1k have NOTHING on the 10K plus!
i’ve been here less than a month, and i’m over 2k. it’s not hard.
Hmm, I believe it took like 3 months. But I’m not consistent about being here, been here since early hmmmm 08 i think and I still have >3000 lurve
I’m pretty active and I think it took two or two and a half weeks.
I didn’t take very long. I am not always here, though. I have been working more than playing, lately and I don’t ask a lot of questions. I comment on several questions – but not on everything that catches my eye. I do a lot more reading, than actually answering. I’m pacing myself to the 10k mark.
A long time. But that was back when you could read all the questions and comments from the day in 15 minutes.
ugh, months. i thought everyone hated me.
It took me just a little over two months to get to where I am, though I’m not nearly as active as some folks on here. If you spend a lot of time on here and answer thoughtfully it shouldn’t take long.
I hope you find what you’re looking for. , :c)
It took a while. I wasn’t hardly on here when I first joined, tho. It was just a sometimes place. I’m here a lot more now, but I don’t ask questions. With all the rules, I’m almost scared to. I just read & answer.
Quite a bit longer then it takes now.
It took a while, then the lurve came fast and free, then everyone was lurved out on me! Now I’m in the 7K slump, but with all these new people, I am gleefully eying my lurve again.
Like 2–3 weeks.maybe less. Depends on how sexy you are…
Been here 4 months and are at about 600. But never really got into Fluther until about a month ago…
About a month but for the first 3 weeks I wasn’t working so more time online.
drClaw it gets slower over time as you can only get limited lurve from individual jellies. It gets a little frustrating when you need 8 lurve points to cross a thousand threshhold and it takes 6 lurves to get them.
I don’t remember exactly but if I had to guess, I would think it was in the neighborhood of about one month for me to receive 1k lurve.
@galileogirl :: About a week ago I got about 25 GA’s on a reply. My score went up 10 points. So two of them actually counted.
I saw that jp. What was that for again? I forget.
@johnpowell: That happens to me all the time! I’ll come back from class or some such thing, and I’ll have ten, twelve, fifteen, seventeen, however many new GA’s or GQ’s and I’ve received a good 5, 10, or 15 lurve. So sad.
If I really tried, and people hadn’t maxed out their lurve for me, I could probably get a thousand lurve within five days, maybe just two. But that doesn’t really count, because people know me. It’s harder when they don’t know you. Then it’s harder when they know you well. Best to be between 2k and 7k—that’s when it’s easiest.
Hm. I’d say my easiest was between 1k and 2,500. Maybe we just had different experiences.
Different experiences? Why, how can that be? Are we not twins, @Trustinglife. Say it ain’t so!
I think I was learning what people wanted at the beginning, and was uncertain about it. Also, I think I was kind of strange to people, but once they figured they knew me, they were more understanding and appreciative of what I wrote. Just a theory.
And, since we’re dealing with perception, who knows how much our perceptions reflect reality? Don’t forget, I have memory problems.
It took me a little over a week for the first 1,000, and I’m just finishing off my second week now.
LOL I am still new here. Not there yet. Having fun and learning is my goal here.
It’s different for each person, and it changes from month to month. When I first joined, there were a lot of familiar users from another site that got cancelled. I contribute several dozen answers every day, so that adds up fast. Then when most of the “regulars” maxed out on the points they could give me, it slowed way down, until a whole new set of familiar users joined and my points took a leap upwards again.

Ummmm…..good question. I would say it took a few weeks, round about. Now….about the time equivalent from Rome burning to the time we have viable flying cars.
