May everyone be in complete peace and happiness.
It might sound selfish, but if we’re happy then we may think of how to make others happy too.
@prasad So, do you think happiness comes from the inside or the outside? Do the events of the world not have an influence on whether you are happy or not?
Happiness comes from inside, though it feels to come from outside (things).
Yes, events of the world do influence us. We feel so because we think we’re bodies, but when it becomes clear that we’re souls, and not just bodies, we just don’t care and continue to be happy.
We’re concerned about events since we’re unsure of the current situation; whether it will remain so or not. But when we know of soul that nothing can at all destroy us or even disturb, then events in the world become irrelevant.
To add, true everlasting happiness comes only from God, and God has told that he dwells in hearts of all living organisms. So, happiness comes from inside.
…And milk. Without milk it would be a very bad place indeed.
I don’t believe in a soul. I think of it as an abstract psychological concept. I don’t believe in God. I think of God as an abstract psychological concept. I think it’s people who think that happiness comes from the inside that are accepting of the absolute destitution of the current global situation. You’ve been trained to accept that. It’s beneficial to certain people for you to accept that because it means they can go on being assholes and making trouble.
@Jiminez, what do you think needs to be done to make the world a better place?
@Jiminez would take your first lines, sorry for not taking the last sentence. :P
Other than milk and cookies, you mean?
It’s complicated. I think governments should give the people bailout money and not the corporations (fake, legalistic persons). I think the labor sector should become more powerful than the business lobby. I think direct democracy should be used more.
More listening to our inner voices. More respect for ourselves.
Less willingness to sell out on ourselves.
More tolerance. You don’t have to accept other’s beliefs, but it goes a long way to be tolerant.
To get to the point of tolerance, teach empathy. If everyone had empathy, it’d be awfully hard to hate so much.
I think they should stop showing soo much bad things on the evening news.. everytime I turn the news on they tell all the crime that is going on, I don’t know about you but I don’t want to hear about that. Where is all the good? I know for a fact there is people out in this world doing good deeds everyday, so why not tell the world about them?
