Give an example, please. Do you mean all humans? (And do you mean ’“strive”?)
I am not sure I would characterize it as “striving” to do so. I agree that we do do that. We overthink. We let feelings get in our way. We ignore feelings and cause other problems.
No, I have never thought that. In my experience people do not “strive” for any such thing. They simply live life the best way they know how, and do the best they can with the life they are given.
I don’t know about all humans, and I’m not sure I would describe as “striving,” but I do know that I have spent a good part of my life making things more difficult for myself. I like to think that has slowed down as I have gotten older.
in comparison to most any other animals, who does only what is necessary to survive and little else, mankind has pushed itself farther and farther from what we once were
@lendwill I agree that animals do not overcomplicate their lives with regret and what ifs the way humans do, but I disagree they only do what is necessary to survive.
They play, they form friendships, they help each other.
Yes, there seems to be a group in the leadership realm which insists on making us all slaves.
@lendwell; Among the non-human primates, (and the hippos, coyotes, ungulates, and elephants, I believe), there is Big Daddy (Silverback), who will fight to remain top dog or chimp or gorilla, sharing of child care, grooming, backbiting, family loyalty and probably arguing about politics.
I think some humans have a tendency to make simple tasks harder because they don’t have a streamlined approach or a better method of performing said tasks. I can’t see the merit in people deliberately striving to make their lives more difficult. Wouldn’t this make someone more unhappy and take more of the enjoyment out of one’s life?
Whether or not you meant it @lendwill, there are folks who do strive for this.
yes.
otherwise calculus would have never been invented.
Math was not invented. Math is giving a voice to something that has always been there.
“Status quo” is exacly the oposite. You can overthink only if you do not have continuous input, and that can result in many combinations and variables, resulting in complication. Every phenomenon in the nature is simple, but road to get to know the same phenomenon is not. From my experiance, i know that people reject certain truths so thay can live peaceful life. So we are actualy striving towards simplisity – today more than ever. Internet and instant culture made us impatient and spoiled. “We want it now with no hard work”, so any effort in our lives is limited by this economy. In conclusion: We label things as complicated when we are tired by it. Life is simple, love is simple, and everything else, but it is important to know the truth (not cosmic truth, but truth within ourself), so your aproach is clean, and not stained bu your nepotism, prejudice or vanity.
than again, some people tend to label something as “complicated” when it is not, because they are lazy put their mind to it; or they attack the subject from one angle only; or thay lack intelligence and consciousness
you could also think of it as an expanding species. We find it necessary to keep expanding our knowlege base constantly. We are pretty much just an invasive species, similar to a weed choking out other life in your garden. why is human nature making us do this?
Yes I would say that most humans tend to make things harder than what they really are. These could be for many many reason. Some might just want a challenge, where some my be doing it and not knowing they are, Or it could be that some are doing it because they like like things harder. This could be due any number of things from they lost a loved one and trying to stay busy to avoid the pain and hurt or it could be that they have nothing in their lives“so they think” there for they make simple tasks harder than what they need to be to give them self a since of “hey that was really hard to do but I got it done”. Some of this nature I would say would be the cause of why some humans make simple tasks into much larger ones.
Thank You
