If Obama suddenly announced the laegalization of marijuana what would be your reaction?

I would pretty much ignore it until the authorities all agreed that it was true.

I would wonder where he thought he had gotten the authority from, and why he was wasting his political capital on a fight over that particular issue when there are far more pressing things to deal with.

I’d be interested to see how fast State Legislatures started coughing up new tax bills for the newly legalized dope.

Well… I’d have a problem with it if there were absolutely no stipulations that came along with the change. For example, just as with alcohol, you should not be able to drive under the influence. You shouldn’t be able to use it around children and there should be an age limit, etc.

For the most part, I think the legalization of marijuana would be a very good thing.

Assuming that there were regulations and it’s not a free for all chaos…i’d grab my roommates and get baked.

I’d celebrate and then plan on opening a coffee/weed shop in my area

I’d be happy. I hope the government does it because they realize it’s not a “gateway drug” and they could make lots of money from it.

I’d say cool, but I think individual states should still have some rules for it’s use, like they do with alcohol and tobacco. I would very much like to see the federal government drop their involvement with all drugs and allow states to determine how they would like to handle it.
