Yahoo answers, but it sucks
fluther is the only one. Lurve to you. Have a great day.
I hear some are trying Gather, and some did not wish to continue participating in Q&A sites.
the new guidelines are lame, way lame.
@A_Beaverhausen What are some of the differences which make it lamer? I did not take a look at the original ones.
Aside from Yahoo Answers (which pales in comparison to Fluther), there is also Google Answers, but there’s a fee structure associated with it which is insane.
If you’re looking for a Q&A site that’s more “one-way” , meaning you ask and they answer… the best one out there is Straightdope.com
idk, i keep getting modded. i friggen HATE THAT.
i wish i was smart enough to make my own dope website like his one. with freedom of speech as its guideline. moding is a waste of time and energy if you ask me.
wheres the checks and balances?
Yahoo Answers
and Askville
I am a frequent YA member. But there are a lot of very young users and also people who use it just to get a rise from people. So far I have found more intellegent and/or witty answers & questions here at Fluther but I just started using it a day ago. But I do LOVE the structure of YA and it has a TON of users so there is always something to do on there. Another good thing about Fluther though is that it picks questions for you to answer and you can respond to people’s comments and you can’t do either on YA.
I don’t like Askville. It seems unorganized to me and is ugly. LOL. Sorry for those who like it.
@A_Beaverhausen I seriously don’t see where the new guidelines have changed that much. It seems you are jumping on the “complain about fluther” bandwagon.
i dont want to complain, and i don’t hate fluther. i just hate walking on pins and needles trying to please mods and their criteria. its like being in high school.
@A_Beaverhausen: No, it’s like being in a courteous and interesting and diverse community. HSers would generate really different remarks.
ugh, nvm. im wrong. what else is new. FML
@A_Beaverhausen I am somewhat surprised that you feel this way. I thought you have added interesting answers on some threads. I don’t really think you should blame the new guidelines, which are not really that different.
what can i blame then? its like they took away recess.
@A_Beaverhausen Why are you looking for a reason to complain and blame someone? As far as I have seen, you have enjoyed fluther for awhile now without complaining. What exactly are you complaining about? Which part is like “taking away recess”?
well, ive had 2 questions, legit ones, be taken off for modding, i fix them , and they
A. dont get re posted and
B. dont get back to me if its still not ‘acceptable’ yet.
not to mention some of my answers disappear.
aaaand i cant log into the chat room, and ive asked for my password to be sent like 7652340 times! still no email.
im trying to be good, i promise. and its not like im just jumping on the band wagon, this really bugs me! i love fluther, but im getting so annoyed.
Any mods want to jump in here?
now let’s not go cheating on fluther. fluther on, i say.
@A_Beaverhausen The moding here seems good to me…It plain ol’ ROTS in Askville and at Y!A.
On Askville, spam may be left on forever if the person sells on Amazon, and there are teens with pregnancy and drug and suicide q’s that will be left up all weekend, as there is NO mod after Friday at 4 or 5 pm.
mods wont jump in, they want me gone. so fluther on.
@A_Beaverhausen I can’t believe that would be true. Every single member is important to the owners of this site. Maybe the moderators haven’t realized you need someone to discuss your issues with.
What kind of questions get moderated? Do they explain in any depth what they think is wrong with them? If you want help rephrasing them, I’d help you do that.
As you may know, I’ve had my own run-ins with moderation. I think I understand what they’re saying, but I just take it as a challenge to get what I really want while still meeting their rules. It’s sort of a game to me—spoof the moderation.
whatever. im over their power trip.
@A_Beaverhausen : If you went to someone’s house for dinner and he asked you not to smoke, what would you do?
smoke outside. cigs are gross tho. bleh
