Did you like the Kraken from Pirates of the Caribbean better or the Kraken from Clash of the Titans better? What is your analysis of Krakens in film?

I know, this is a very poignant question and I ask for you to ponder it seriously. I can’t wait to “Sea” what you’ll say.

First off: GA for the sea pun. I’m still Kraken up…
Secondly: Nothing will ever beat the artistry what is Ray Harryhausen
@shockvalue I know, I could barely contain myself when I decided to go that way with the wording!
I found the computer graphics in Pirates of the Caribbean to be very dark and in most scenes visually obscurred. I liked the clarity of the stop-motion animation in the Clash of the Titans. Since my vision is very poor, I like clear, sharp images better.
@Yarnlady I must have watched Perseus fight the Kraken perhaps over 25 times already. It is rather amazing that the whole fate of Athens rested upon a robotic Owl that fluttered all about. It helped get the Medusa head out of the sea.
@Kraken – Even more amazing when you consider that the owl would never have been made if Athena had given up her bird. By her refusal, she saved the city, her namesake.
@fireside Well that’s Athena for you, always looking out for her peeps like that.
Clash of the Titans is Epic.
For some reason i kind of want to see that movie redone with good graphics but at the same time im afraid they’ll ruin a classic.
@uberbatman Indeed, it begs to be redone yet it also would be very sad to see it redone. As a True Classic, It should remain untouched. It is perfect the way it is.
@uberbatman They redid Jason and the Argonauts and it was one of the worst things eve… I think that the graphics really make the movie what it is, trying to re do them is like trying to re-film citizen cane in colour/3D just because we have the technology…
@shockvalue Exactly, there should be some sort of cimematic law about untouchable films for remakes.
Was the remake of Jason and the Argonauts on Sci-Fi? I believe I saw that one and I was not too impressed by that.
@Kraken Luckily, the originals are still available, even after the new ones come out. Some remakes turn out better, like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and a live version of Alice In Wonderland.
@Yarnlady I suppose the persona of Johnny Depp didn’t hurt either. I feel as if I just fell down the rabbit hole as I have a new persona myself. I’m blending into the environment.
So I noticed, and doing a great job of it as well
@Yarnlady Yeah, I figured that this image was more apropos for here. I get to keep the K thing going.
@Yarnlady are you implying that the remake of charlie and the chocolate factory was better than the original? Because if you are, your out of your mind.
@uberbatman I don’t like the tone of your last comment. A better wording would be you strongly disagree. My mind is intact, thank you. Keep your insults to yourself.
Word up, this does come from a straight up G. I indeed have cried but it was bigger than myself & included so I was allowed to cry since it dealt with loss on a grand scale and it included us all.
BWAHAHA! Oh man, careful guys… Teh intenets is serious business!
@Kraken Click on uber’s ‘better or worse’ link. You’ll understand then.
