If you could read your favorite magazine either online or in print form - which would you prefer?

I still like reading print versions of magazines (like Men’s Health, for example) rather than online. Am I a dying breed?

Well it would depend on whether the online version would be archived or not…I like to clip articles from my favorite magazine to save for later…
as much as I am online, I still love to savor the feel of a real magazine or book—the paper, flipping through pages, the three-dimensionality of it all.
I love reading reader’s digest in print, and I would only read online if they stopped printing. Also it’s not the best circumstances to read articless that can occaisonally be lengthy on a screen.
Some people say print is dead, but I like print. At least until real electronic paper is ready.
Do people read their computer in the bathroom?
I have a Kindle & I’m not taking it in “there” with me.
Nope, KalWest, I don’t think we’re a dying breed. I have a variety of magazines here in paper form for reading in the Loo, out on my porch in the sun, at the playground while my son runs around, etc.
No. ;) I like reading Women’s Health on the elliptical sometimes. I’d probably drop & bust it if it was a kindle, though it’d be pretty damn sweet to upload a year or so worth of back-issues onto one.
I grew up with books being revered as gifts and treasures not just education so I still prefer to read in print where I can. Except for the news, most of it is such crap that I’m content to skim websites for content and be done with it.
I’d rather read it in print. Sometimes we need a little escape from technology dont you think?
Thanks all for your responses. Glad to see I’m not the only one
No, I hate reading online. That is why I am likely to skim some of daloon’s or dalepetrie’s longer screeds even though the content is always great.
GQ just doesn’t cut it on screen….. print
I like ‘em in print! I can get my favorite one for free online, but I still pay for the print version because I love flipping through and clipping recipes.
print… i agree with Tao… if i want to chill in the park with my issue of GQ the laptop is much heavier
Print, by far. Books and magazines have a special place in my heart and in my bathroom. For books in particular, it’s the whole experience of the book… the look, the feel, the smell, and if I own them… breaking the spines and folding the pages just the way I like.
Definitely print. I often read magazine that are practical, like Ready Made, Make & Backpacker, and to be able to carry them around with me is really important.
I prefer the print magazine ONLY because of the ability to read it while in the bathroom. A magazine is foldable and won’t burn my legs while it rests on my lap. ;)
Is it cheating to say both? Both have their advantages. I suppose if I had to settle I’d go with online, since when you’re bored at work it’s easy to bring it up.
