Winning isn’t everything and one team will always lose, sometimes your own. Be enthusiastic but gracious and remember some play for the game, some play to challenge themselves and some play just because they’re good at excelling in that particular thing (might be their only thing).
^^^what she said!
Also, that trying their best and being a good sport are the most important things.
Have fun, try your hardest, and never worry if you lose. Someone always has to lose, but if the game was fun it really doesn’t matter who won. There will be another game next week.
Also, be a good sport even if the other team or some parents aren’t.
And no, you don’t need the most expensive equipment to play.
Above all have fun!! Don’t expect to win them all and there is no “I” in team.
I think it’s good to remind your kids that there are more important things than sports, like family and education, but there is nothing wrong with having fun and being a part of a team, win or lose.
The purpose of this is to have fun, run around, play with your friends, and be happy. It’s also about learning some new things about people and yourself. However, it is not about pressure, unhappiness, lack of respect, or feeling sad. If it becomes any of these things, you might want to think about it and we can talk it over.
Play hard, respect the game, and be gracious in both victory and defeat.
Go get ‘em tiger
kill ‘em dead
take no prisoners
It’s ok to make mistakes, everybody makes them, even the pros on TV. We learn from our mistakes!
Your team is your family, too. You are a part of a bigger thing than yourself. This will teach you A LOT about yourself! You will do well.
Have fun. :)
How about this one. There is likely a time it will be hard to stick with it. Sometimes we get tired of losing. Or get tired of going to games and practices. Maybe our coach is mean or too hard on us. Maybe our fellow teammates are brats. But in the end if you stick with it you will feel very good about it. I guess it’s important to let kids know the challenges as well as the rewards. And one of the hardest things for young people to do is to stick with it when it gets tough.
Crush the other team and be victorious.
- Teamwork plays a vital role in achieving victory
– Winning isn’t everything
– Good sportsmanship is classy
– Do your best and be proud of your accomplishments
