Do you have stats to go with this? I’m curious
@TheIowaCynic
I’m on a mobile device so it is hard for me to link a source without the ability to copy and paste otherwise I would.
In the absence of a link i’m afraid any evidence cited by me so far can only be classified as anecdotal.
@The_Compassionate_Heretic OK. I’ll look it up, or maybe somebody else will post something. One thing that does come to mind is that America is, and always has been, a very culturally diverse nation. Sam Francis that as a nation becomes more diverse it will either become more chaotic or more oppressive and the empirical evidence is 100% with him on that one, so I think that’s part of it. Also, we’re less oppressive. We’re big and have lots of open space and people who live out in the middle of nowhere (not like in Europe) and so we value our gun-laws. I think that might have something to do with it as well
Looking into Canadian gun violence versus American gun violence will offer a lot of insight – we have a lot of guns, but we don’t have nearly the gun violence level as America does. I’m sure Googling my first phrase will get you statistics.
@Mizuki: cool link! I think I’ll join up.
That was the big question in Bowling for Columbine by Michael Moore. The answer I took away from it was that we have a culture of fear.

I have never heard that U.S. has a greater amount of gun crime than other countries, but then again I have never actually looked the statistics up. Maybe the U.S. reports more crimes than do other countries who do not, so the statistics might be skewed a bit??
The question is: “What other countries are you comparing the US to?”
