From what I hear, they get what they had coming to them… usually. But no, it’s not very high on my list of things to care about.

What’s with all the rape theme questions of late?

LuvBubble's avatar

Personally, I think rapists should be castrated, first and foremost.

asmonet's avatar

Not particularly.

@AstroChuck: Seems to be only the new people asking, I’ve noticed on wis.dm there’s no shortage of questions on the topic, or there weren’t when I was clicking around. Kind of disturbing, eh?

VzzBzz's avatar

Yes, I would hope the other prisoners give them the Jeffrey Dahmer treatment

not at all. unless they were falsely accused.

Yeah, what Chuck said. Now if you’ll excuse me I am going to go “manage my anger”.

by beating the fuck out of my pillow and screaming indecipherable obscenities

Are answers in the form of irrelevant questions normally considered “great?”

Blondesjon's avatar

I’ll take irrelevant questions over passive/aggressive questions any day.

I do. Prisons should be a place to transform criminals into noncriminals, insofar as it’s possible. We need to get away from the idea that prisons are a way to take revenge of criminals. That doesn’t help anyone, particularly when they get out.

I’d be very curious as to what methods of prison management have the best success from the point of view of recidivism. Bottom line, everyone should be treated humanely, for ethical reasons, and because it ends up being the best long term strategy for a healthy society.

@finkelitis GA.

As a society, we seem to have no problem discarding people to rot away in prisons that are no better than medieval dungeons. Shameful for a “civilized” society, who claims, in its founding document, to abhor cruel punishment.

tinyfaery's avatar

Of course I care. This is a civilized society, is it not?

jo_with_no_space's avatar

Controversially, yes I do.

laureth's avatar

I agree with @finkelitis.

Not caring about the inhumane treatment of those who behaved inhumanely is so uncivilized. What is this, Bible times?
