How do you describe colors to a blind person?

Many deaf people can/do experience the vibrations of music. So they have a sense of how powerful and emotional it can be. I learned that in my sign language class when I was in college. So I guess my answer is you don’t need to explain it to them because they can experience it.

You don’t have to, they can feel it. I went to a school having programs for the hearing impaired and they listened to music all the time. I also know a few deaf musicians.

RedPowerLady’s link above is cool.

Wouldn’t describing senses to a person without them be rather cruel?

I would dance with them.
I love watching sign language interpreters sign when songs are being sung. They not only sign the words, they do it with such emotion! Whatever emotions we hear from the song, the deaf can see through the interpreter.

The Babel rave scene was the first time I really thought about it. Because she’s in such an intense music/dance environment. Everyone around her is moving to the same beat. She must feel the vibrations. Plus, the sound actually cuts out so tat the viewers get some sense of what it’s like for her. Plus she’s rolling on E…

@Vinifera7
It would be a topic to be considerate about.
If a deaf person asked me what music was like I would likely go along similar lines to RedPowerLady & aviona and emphasize the vibrations. I’d offer to take the person to a place where there was a lot of drum and bass.
