What is the color of frustration?

Orange. Not quite angry red, but definitely a “hot” color.

@petethepothead – I agree. It’s not red – that is anger and it’s not yellow – a little too mellow. Orange is caution color and it seems to me, it’s that step (frustration) right before I get angry.

Orangeish reddish. Actually, mostly red.

Sometimes blue violet , and sometime sheer impossible teeth-clenching white.

Black. When I get really, suddenly frustrated, everything goes black for a split second.

Black or orange. So I guess I’m saying Halloween is frustrating?

Flashing, flickering neon booger yellow-green with flecks of brown and red in patterns that burn the eyes.

Burgundy.

To me it is red. Same as anger because frustration to me is often more infuriating than anger. In fact as I think of it now I’m picturing anger as a deeper red and frustration as a brighter red.

I found this online from a research study published in the Journal of Cross-Cultural Psychology: “In all nations, the colors of anger were black and red, fear was black, and jealousy was red. Cross-cultural differences were (a) Poles connected anger, envy, and jealousy also with purple; (b) Germans associated envy and jealousy with yellow; and© Americans associated envy with black, green, and red, but for the Russians it was black, purple, and yellow.”

Deep purple

I believe red could signify frustration. Blue could be the color for asphyxiation. Yellow is cowardice, I think. White is for purity. As for the rest of the colors, I just don’t know.

@Jeruba I try to listen to classical music, NPR, or ambient downtempo when I’m driving these days, since I commute a lot. :) It keeps the drive… how do we make this topic-appropriate? A swirling pale lavender, grey, and blue. :) Matching emotions to colors is kinda fun.
