Other than a great place to put an earing, do you have any idea what the purpose behind the ear lobe is?

Asked by FGS (1932points) March 31st, 2009

Seems kind of unnecessary to me…or was it custom made for nibbling?

Where else you gonna store your chewed gum?

I thought it was where the mama grabs the pup and says, “You come along with me now, buster.”

@Jeruba That’s a good use for it.

It seems nobody really knows. Thanks for making me wonder about something I’d never considered before!

@augustlan That’s what I’m here for ;)

1. Nibbling
2. Yanking on to drag naughty husbands around the house
3. Tugging on as a code signal to a fellow secret agent when on spy missions
4. To play with nervously when lying to someone important
5. So you won’t panic straight away when part of your ear gets cut off – it could just be the lobe.
6. So I could have something to rhyme with in my poem about “clear robes”

ooh, almost forgot one:
7. For tugging on when playing charades: “Sound like…”

For Carol Burnett to tug on at the end of her show!
