Have you ever gone to a rave alone?

I’ve only ever gone with big groups of friends (at least 3 or 4 of us, usually more). Just wondering if anyone has gone alone and just mingled and made friends there? Was it a good or bad or just okay experience? Would you recommend it or not?

Now that is weird…
I’ve only been to one rave and it was with one other person. The rest of the people there I had never seen before in my entire life. It was fun for me. I liked being exposed to a bunch of new people I had never met and will most likely never see again. This was in Russia, just in case you were wondering. I haven’t been completely alone, though, so I guess it depends on what kind of person you are. If this is you’re thing and you normally socialize and make friends easily, then it will probably work out fine and you may enjoy it very much.
@Dansedescygnes yeah that’s the fun part about them is meeting new people, for sure. But it’s also nice having recognizable faces to go back to. I’ve actually run into people I know at some of them, which was a total trip.
I’ve just never gone completely on my own, and am wondering what it would be without the comfort of those recognizable faces.
Did I travel back in time? Is this 1991?
There are places that are not safe to go alone, and I would put “rave” in the top ten. What happens if someone slips you something, or you have a bad reaction to something you take? You want to depend on strangers to help you and keep you safe? Not me.
I can’t believe people still go to raves, I thought that scene was long dead.

Yes ive been to a few alone both underground and bigger shows. I made friends at both. Infected Mushroom was a pretty awesome show i saw alone and ended up hanging out with two kids that were visiting from Japan.
@elijahsuicide how would they slip me something? There’s generally not buffets or bars at these things…I hold onto my shit
@aviona It can happen anywhere, and if you’re in a place with lots of drugs (and fucked up people) the odds go up. Girls have to watch themselves at all times, because you never know. I know a girl that was raped in a bathroom stall, and no one helped her because everyone was rolling their faces off. If you choose to put yourself in a dangerous situation (going alone), then you choose to up your odds of something happening.

Yes. I used to go alone all the time. Friends, especially fucked up ones, can be a distraction sometimes.
I’ve never even been to a rave. I wouldn’t know how to behave.
