Why do I sometimes see a new entry in the "LURVE" box on the right yet no change in my lurve total?

Everyone has a lurve limit for each person… (you can only give so much lurve to an individual) after that, you can still receive a “Great Answer” However, It will not effect your number of Lurve points… It just means someone REALLY lurves you ;)

because nobody really lurves you.

So if someone reaches their lurve limit with me, but gives me lurve, then I’ll show ”+5 quote” but the lurve total won’t increase?

I’m confused by it all.

You can only give so much lurve. I’m pretty sure I’ve maxed on essieness. I’m showing 3484 for her, I’ll give her lurve and we’ll see what happens.

Geesh, I got 20 lurve under “lurve” (4 GA) and nothing added to my count.

@Mr. M, yes, exactly. It just started happening to me about a month ago, too. It sucks, plus I’m really curious who the heck lurves me that much.

Oh, and I just noticed this! Instead of the normal, “this is how to make your text look different, it usually shows below the answer box, now it says:

“Oh, you think you’re so smart, don’t you. Just give everyone your opinion.”

It’s not just reaching your limit for others. You also can only get so much lurve on any given thread. After five GAs you won’t get any more lurve points regardless of how many great answers you’re given.

Mr.M: we started the same week. for the same reason and we are very close in lurve. I am finding about 1 in 3 GA counts toward lurve and yesterday I got 11 GA with only 2 counting toward lurve. Some of the 10,000+ jellies get 1/15. It prevents the gaming they had in the ‘ville.

There’s still some gaming here, though. It’s obvious.
