What's your favorite brand/roast/blend of coffee?

When I was growing up, you bought your coffee in a can, opened it and filled the coffee pot and brewed a cup. Now there is a great variety of beans, blends, roasts, and flavors available. What’s your favorite?

Jamaica Blue Mountain, Christopher Bean.
Novo! It’s the only coffee I’ve ever had that I could taste a real goodness in. Everything else just tastes like coffee, Novo tastes good.
Willoughby’s Sumatra Mandheling French Roast. Willoughby’s is a coffee shop here that roasts the beans daily, and is just to die for!
When I have too many small children with me to go to the local coffee shop, I buy either Peet’s French Roast or Starbucks. Always whole beans, and grind them each morning. No one else is allowed to mess with my coffee, unless they want to experience some bodily harm.
I know it’s terribly uncouth of me, but I love Dunkin Doughnuts coffee (and I think Starbucks is some nasty, nasty, burned, undrinkable stuff).

I love Dunkin’ Donuts coffee! Though, that could just be because it’s usually accompanied by a Dunkin Donut… but really, I buy it for home too.
Dunkin Donuts, except that I can only buy it in bags here. Alas, there is no Dunkin Donuts in Wyoming (or Colorado. or Montana. or the Dakotas. Come on, Dunkin! Lets move you out West!). But I am also a fan of most Caribou Coffee blends. Yum.
Coffee brewed at my altitude never tastes as good as it does at sea level. Lousy water temperature not getting hot enough.
@syz, I agree with you about the Starbucks—I can’t drink that stuff they sell as coffee in their stores. I don’t know what they do to it, but when I buy their coffee to brew at home, it’s great! Has to be French Roast though—I haven’t tried the other vareties.
@Zen I’m usually stuck with Folgers unfortunately. I try to get Christopher Bean whenever possible and I’d happily have a cuppa with you too!
My #1 favorite was Yukon Blend from Starbucks. Of course, the world hates me and I can never have good things, so Starbucks just had to discontinue that brand. I cry every night now.
I like any kind of Peets Coffee
caribou’s caribou blend, green mountain breakfast blend, and dunkin’ donuts coffee rocks! there used to be a chain of convenience stores in my area called “White Hen Pantry” (yep, no idea where the name comes from…sounds down home and racist at the same time!) that sold a very nice cup of coffee.
also, recently bought one of those Kreuger single-cup brewers which makes a mean cup of java!
dilworth coffee’s brazilian conquistador is nice, and it’s socially responsible. i love morehead estate, also DCH (dilworth coffee house). i like lighter roasts, costa ricans are nice. i tend to stay away from really dark roasts, like french roasts or new orleans… my friend ben says that any coffee roasted to where it can be called “french” is no dice. ;)
btw, NEVER flavored coffee. if you drink flavored coffee, do yourself a favor and google how they flavor it… see if you’re still cool with putting that in your body after the fact. ewwww…
@EmilyBearclaw – There are far worse things to be putting in your body than coffee flavoring. That said, I find it disgusting simply because regular coffee is yummy enough.
Another vote for Dunkin’ Donuts – I’m so happy to be back on the East Coast where the Dunkin’ Coffee flows freely!
@dynamicduo i agree wholeheartedly, there are worse things than coffee flavoring… but it’s still pretty gross.
@EmilyBearclaw @dynamicduo I agree with you both about flavored roasts. If I want to put a flavor in my coffee, I usually do it in the brew or press process (Mocha comes to mind mmmmmmmmm!)
Speaking of mocha, I love chocolate and I love coffee. Although a Mocha grande is a good way to get both flavors, I also like a mocha java blend of beans.
btw, The term Mocha is taken from the original name of the Yemeni port Al Mukha where the original Mocha coffees were traded. The Dutch first blended these bright, winy-tasting beans with the deeper toned Java varietal for a blend that Europeans highly regarded in the 18th century. Although we now associate “mocha” with chocolate, when cocoa was first introduced to Europe, coffee connoisseurs compared its taste to the Arabian Mocha coffee
It’s so interesting to see how different but yet the same we all are about coffee…I love the Hawaiian Kona, although I can’t find it easily. I need a mild coffee so the Starbucks Breakfast Blend or the other mild one, can’t remember the name, that has a bit of chocolate in it.

Peppermint mocha frappachino is great in the summer to cool off and wake up!
I also prefer Dunkin Donuts to Starbucks; unfortunately it doesn’t exist in San Francisco (I’ve often wondered why as I have met other East Coast transplants who wish that it did). I don’t like French roast; I find that Starbucks as well as many of the independent cafes tend to favor it as their default brew. I appreciate a deep robust coffee (e.g., the Blue Bottle drip coffee at the SF Farmers Market), but French roast always tastes bitter and burnt to me. When I purchase beans I tend to go for Kona (when I can afford it), Sumatra, Guatemalan, or the organic blend they sell at Trader Joe’s.
Actually Dunkin Donuts coffee is great and not bad at all.I had some and was not expecting to get good coffee at Dunkin Donuts. The coffee of Starbucks is not that bad either, only not as great as it is advertised to be. There are many other outlets that can provide better!
