I think it’d be fun to get paid obscene amounts of money to play make-believe.

An actor, sure. It would be great to have that kind of talent. I’d even take the money that comes with being a famous or really accomplished actor.
But the fame? Hell to the no.
No. I wouldn’t be able to keep mentally balanced by what comes out in magazines, TV, internet, etc. How not to look and watch? I’d have to be insulated by minders everywhere and would become even more eccentric and shifty than I already am which would probably affect the acting work in a negative way after a while.
@VzzBzz lol, you’ve really thought this through
@Facade: My little sister went to school with actors’ children, some of them child actors so naturally she wanted to get into it also and our family had a few years of deep thoughts and discussions. It’s a dirty world.
@Facade: No but not for lack of trying. She freelances doing music reviews now :D
I wouldn’t mind earning the kind of money that famous actors get but I would despise all the media attention and the major lack of privacy that is a by-product of being a celebrity.
Yes, I’d be an actor. One doesn’t have to accommodate the gutter press to be a famous, well-paid actor. And if someone snapped me at Trader Joe’s without makeup and wearing flip-flops, so what? Acting is a job and actors are under no obligation to give the public any information about their private lives. Perhaps because I live in a big city known for not giving two hoots about the famous in our midst, I can more easily say this.
@aprilsimnel What a fantastic view on the subject. (in all sincerity)
I have an MFA in acting and directing and, while I enjoy acting, I am no good at it. Directing, though, is also fun and I think I do that better.
