If you were driving down the freeway at nighttime during construction work and spotted several Highway Patrol officers near the construction area with their lights on would you a: speed up b: slow down c: continue at the same speed (assuming that this is a multi-lane freeway and you are able to go at or above typical freeway speeds)

I work night shift and come home around 4 A.M. along a busy route where some construction is going on and am amazed by the number of cars zipping by doing 80–85 mph while the highway patrol officers are pulled off to the side of the road…Just wondering how ya’all would react…I’n a c kind of guy in this instance…

I always slow down for construction sites. Those “My Daddy Works Here!” signs got me.

Whatever the posted speed limit is is what I drive. If the troopers were on the side of the road and I could change to the farthest lane, I would also do that. The reason people drive fast through construction zones, regardless of the time, presence of workers, or the presence of police is simple: people are idiots.

I’m shocked the officers don’t pull them over. In my state, you have to go like, 35 in a work zone…doesn’t matter if it’s a highway.
I slow down. I don’t want to hit anyone.

I always slow down and move to the far lane, even it it looks like they are confined to the area behind the cones. At night, you just never know if they might be in your way.

Always slow for construction. I once worked on a road repair crew, and a co-worker was badly injured by a hit and run. fortunately I was able to report the tag # and the driver was arrested and prosecuted. victim survived, but could never work on a road or construction crew again.

I would slow down, maybe just a little bit, so nothing bad goes down ;)
