What the flip is was wrong with my hand?

Asked by robmandu (21331points) April 4th, 2009

Look at your hand just below where the middle finger joins the palm (often, there’s a callus there). Squeeze that point.

Earlier today when I did that, it frickin’ hurt. And yet I could still ball up a fist, spread my fingers wide, whatever without any pain at all.

Then, a couple hours later after I first noticed the pain when gripping the steering wheel of my car, the pain vanished. There’s now no discomfort at all.

My grandmother-in-law says it might be a tumor.

Maybe a pinched nerve? Whatever it was, glad you’re feeling better.

Ah! I’ve had that happen on my ring finger before. I pushed it for a few weeks for funsies….and then it went away. Don’t worry about it. :)

Sometimes it’s lasted an hour or two, sometimes much longer. No big.

If you experience bruising, numbness or persistent pain that radiates you should get it checked out. Otherwise, could just be a pinched nerve?...could also be strain from repetitive stress (RSI). If you’ve been doing a lot of repetitive actions involving that hand (typing), give it a rest?...just throwing out some ideas.

If your palm is itchy it means money right? So if it hurts…must be a shiton of money, my friend.

Anything that doesn’t get better pretty soon, and causes pain that you notice, you might want to check out—just to know what is going on in your body.
