Can anyone help me identify this Chinese medicinal skin creme?

Asked by Ort (521points) April 6th, 2009

I have some Chinese medicinal creme that I bought from Elephant Pharmacy that is supposed to be good for rashes or minor skin problems and it works great. No idea what is in it. It’s called SHENGQIFUNINGSHUAN and comes in a red plastic bag with Chinese characters on it. It also says GAOXIAOZHIXUANLING on it. Anyone know what this is? The Pharmacist didn’t know either and I can’t find anything on Google.

If you don’t know what it is, don’t use it! Think of all the poisonous products that have come from China in recent years- and pharmaceutical stuff is among the most likely to be adulterated.

Putting spaces where I think they should go, I get that “SHENG QI FUNING SHUAN” is Suppository for Relieving Woman Diseases – not quite a skin cream!

LOL! The Pharmacy recommended it for rashes as some kind of herbal ointment. I had an allergic reaction to some chemicals and was wanting to avoid cortisones. So much for pharmacies! You’d think they’d be more cautious for over the counter cremes. I wonder what kind of “Woman Diseases” they had in mind? o..O

Its white rhino tusk and tiger bone balm.

… and eye of endangered newt? I wonder. It’s good for irritated skin, that’s all I know.
