Do you know of a free or inexpensive phonebook program?

Asked by EmpressPixie (14767points) April 7th, 2009

The current solution we have for a phonebook program at work has officially hit a dead end. Do you know of a free or inexpensive program that works well, is friendly to look at, and is friendly for people who might, say, still need help attaching something to e-mail?

I know I can look up a million online, but I’d really like to hear if any you use one and if it works well. Personal testimony goes a long way. Thanks!

We have PCs.

Google docs spreadsheet can be made into something more or less pretty, and the whole group can have access to it, modify it, etc etc. I’m not sure the size of your operation… I’m at a small non-prof and we use the office suite + exchange. It’s not incredibly affordable or particularly user friendly, but it’s sort of the standard I suppose.

For free answers, the spreadsheet is the way to go, I think. Only 1 person needs any technical prowess to set up the form, and then everyone else can just plug stuff in and take whatever info they need.

For something a little more robust and a little less free, Google Apps for Business is 50$/user/year, and it’s a great suite of software that’s reliable, easy to use, and more or less affordable.
