You guys! I have ants in my house, in my pantry, in my sugar and in my food! Do you know how to get rid of them without poisoning myself in the process?

Any natural tips and remedies will be appreciated – even better if you’ve tried them yourself and you know they work! TY!

Cheap ass vinegar in a squirty bottle spray around the house/area you don’t want them works for me .
@JellyB Yes its right next to dear ass ketchup .
Hopefully you wont be bothered by them again .
All ants are toffs the hate cheap stuff lolz
No, the only way is to poison yourself.
=D
where can you buy ass vinegar? You should be lucky you don’t have ants in your pants!
If the vinegar doesn’t work, try Orange Guard spray – it’s totally natural and non-toxic, so it’s safe to use around your food and pets. I’ve never had ant problems myself, but my mom has sworn by the stuff for years… Good luck!
Ant motels. Watch to see where the ants are coming from and plop down a few ant motels near the entrance. The ants check in AND check out. And take the poison home. And soon you don’t have any ants anymore.
I have been fighting a serious ant problem at my house for a while now. The weird effect of the motel was that the ants got a bit strange around day four. I can only assume that is when the poison started really working. For example, instead of sticking to the areas that might give them food, I found a few walking up the wall, in a line, to an area with nothing there. It was weird. But after a week, they are all dead and I’ve seen no more sense. THANK GOD.
Once they are gone, scrub like you have never scrubbed before to get rid of those chemical trails.
I had an ant problem at my house too. My siblings, cousins, and I gave the whole house a good scrub down. After completely cleaning it we made sure that all food was sealed away and to clean up any crumbs or whatever after eating.
Other than that I’ve heard that ants don’t like baby powder. I’ve also heard that bay leaves are a good ant deterrent. I have not tried either of these, though.
There are various products, some of which make much of their nontoxicity to people and pets, that you can sprinkle liberally around the periphery of your house itself, up close to the foundation. We have found these to be effective, but we may be poisoning ourselves.
In the dry season when they like to come in we deploy ant traps of various brands. Guess we should be trying the cheap-ass vinegar solution as well.
Try dishes of borax and honey. It may work but not for a huge army.
Here’s what a clueless college student living is a broken-down converted garage did.
I had ants all over my counter, eating my freshly baked pita bread. I was furious. I had no chemicals or know-how, so I took the brute force option. I studied them and tried to find how they were getting in. I found a tiny hole under my counter on the wall. I sealed it up with a hot glue gun, and never saw another ant in my apartment ever again.
It might have just been a fluke that this worked, but it did. It was weird. Chemical free!
@tonedef LOL! Hey, that may be a plan…..it should keep them at bay for a while maybe… :)
@gailcalled Someone else mentioned that to me also…. TY! :)
Would fumes from a hot glue gun be benign?
my bet would be to call a certified pest control dealer. i know this is aggravating for you. just seeing a trail of ants in my kitchen is sickening enough. you can lure ants, too, with these little black plastic ant baits available off the shelf at most stores. place them in strategic corners and the ants go in, but do not come out.
true story: a skunk bored his way under a million dollar dwelling in upscale chicago suburb. he’d dug tunnels and sprayed continuously. the homeowners had to have the entire house gutted, drywall, carpet, floors and all. to get to the rascal, they contracted professionals dressed in what seemed to be hazardous materials gear, bore a hole through massive concrete of the front porch. the stinch was in the clothes—everything. the occupants had to leave their home and live somewhere else. the ordeal was so long and exhausting, it even led to divorce.
got skunk?
Take ALL the food out of your house for a few weeks?
