Does anyone know the difference (aside from color) between blue mascara and black mascara?

Asked by KatawaGrey (21483points) April 8th, 2009

Whenever I go to bed in blue mascara, i wake up and it’s all gone. When I go to bed with black mascara on, I wake up with most of it still on and with a serious case of raccoon eyes. Is there something in the pigmentation that causes this change? I have the same brand of both mascaras and it’s not as if the black is older than the blue which I thought might cause clumping and there is no ingredients list on the tube. Does anyone know why this happens?

Yes, I believe I read an article way back when that the pigments used hinder it’s ability to stay on longer. Combined with the fact that blue will blend more readily than black around your eyes… it just won’t show up as often. I’ve noticed the same thing, and to a lesser extent with my green and purple mascaras. And I’ve seen you, you have similar coloring to me, a bit darker so I imagine it’s similar.
