Those are the first three hits I got from google, after typing “subsidized versus unsubsidized”

From experience:

Subsidized loans means that the government pays the interest on your loans, and unsub means that they don’t.

When taking loans out for school, take sub when you can, unsub when you are desparate, or, like me – don’t have parents paying for your school.

unsubsidized start gaining interest while you are in school, subsidized wait until you graduate!

Like @squirbel said, the gov pays the interest while you are a full time student on a subsidized loan.
