Can anybody recommend a new hobby?

Pikachu dolls. Or stamp collecting.
Nah! Both of those would get expensive.
Old pikachu dolls, that kids have tossed. Cancelled stamps.
Hiking? Bird watching? Power walking? Using other people’s garbage to create art?
@MissAusten I’m a bit drunk, but I second the motion. Biking is good, also Bird hunting, and Pounding your ex, also using other people’s art as garbage can be creative.
Programming? It’s not for everyone, but I have fun making games and applications. I would recommend something else but my brain seems to be stuck on programming.
I used to do latch hook rugs kits as a kid. Knitting and crocheting are also good, and it’s a useful skill to have.
Or try cribbage.
Painting or Hiking or both.
Also how about treasure hunting? My spouse and I do it for fun. Here is how it works:
We get a map of the local mountains and grid it off. We then take each section and explore it for treasures. Keep in mind our idea of treasures can be:
Indian artifacts
Unusual wildflowers or plants
Rocks with interesting characteristics
Bones
Evidence of homesteads
Caves
Interesting animal life of insects
Of course finding hidden gold would be pretty awesome.
If you find an unusual artifact or item post it on Fluther for an ID- my “Fluther Brethern” have ID’d my finds in the past and I have learned a lot.
Photography, it`s fun..:)
@Zen, I’m a bit jealous. I’d have a martini, but it might interfere with driving to the preschool to pick up my son.
@Dog, I have to second the insect idea. If you already have a half-way decent digital camera, finding and photographing insects can become an addictive hobby. I sort of fell into it by accident, with my son who loves bugs. We take pictures of everything we find and keep an album. We look at different websites together to ID strange insects, and get really excited when we find something uncommon, like a hummingbird moth. The only problem is that now I want a much more expensive camera with a macro lens and the time to take photography classes!
If you like children, you can coach a t ball team. Or you can go hunting for mushrooms and make money by selling them.
@MissAusten I know what you mean about the insect photos- I have a huge amount of them on my computer. :)
It’s after 10 p.m. here, and I’m off til Sunday. Wahoo!
I haven’t tried it myself, but I’ve read some positive things about Geocaching.
Eh. lets keep in the $20 a month range. Cheaper would be better. Most of my money is tied up these days. lol.
Tide has to do with waves, or the detergent. Tied is the past tense of tie. Like, tie me kangaroo down, sport.
@Zen thanks for the tip. lol.
How about joinging a league? Volleyball, bowling, softball etc.
@chyna She’s got it! Yeah baby, she’s got it!
