Do they still sell CRT based TVs in stores anymore?

Honestly, I haven’t been in a electronics store in years. Is it all LCD or plasma TVs now? Could I walk into a Best Buy and walk out with a CTR TV?

Yes, but very few. They are only allowed to sell digital TV’s now, so they can’t sell any older CRT models.
I doubt it. I have been checking out all the new flat screens due to the change from analog to digital. It turned out that all I had to do was install the converter boxes and stick with my roof antenna and CRT TVs. But in my recent travels to stores selling TVs, I never saw a CRT. However, I have two lovely ones for sale if you are interested. One is a Panasonic from 1986. The electronics are so archaic that it won’t support any DVD player, ever with its own converter box.
But the VHR still works and the new pictures are sharp and better. I even get a number of new channels, including 4 religious ones. The whole new set up, with the gov’t coupons, cost me $80.
I’ve seen smaller sized CRT screens, but nothing larger that 19”. And @Ivan is right. They have to be equiped with the digital tuner.
I have a 32” CRT that you are welcome to have.
Oh, I have a nice new LCD TV and cable. I wasn’t looking to get one. I was just curious if they still sold them.
But thanks for the offers.
@JP; Mine are cheaper; I promise you. Free shipping and handling also.
I know about ten curbsides around town where I could get one right now if I wanted one.
@petethepothead: We don’t have curbs here; at this time of year, we don’t even have streets, just sink holes and mud slides.
I can only answer for the electronic stores I’ve seen in NYC, which are both regional chains and national big box stores: Nyet.
There’s still some hanging on here but really, where’s the demand ok CRT tv’s? I can’t imagine they’re selling many of those.
I’ve seen plenty of CRTs in stores lately. I’m always surprised by how much they still cost.
