What do you think about the possible immigration reform?

Asked by kheredia (5571points) April 9th, 2009

President Obama is talking about a possible immigration reform and I’m curious to hear some point of views on the subject. Apparently, if the reform passes it will be legalizing those who go through a background check, speak english, pay taxes, and pay a fine for entering illegally. President Obama will be speaking about it publicly next month.

what specifically? I mean, what’s the reform?

There hasn’t been any specific reform yet but they did say that it would legalize people who are already here, have been paying taxes, speak english, have gone through a background check, and pay a fine for entering illegally. Other than that, I don’t know anything else about it. President Obama will be speaking about it publicly next month.

The real reform has to be in how people can get her LEGALLY in the first place. I hear that whole process is a total nightmare

We need to begin by reforming the immigration process our own immigration laws encurage illegal entry and the lack of enforcement if current law encourages the hiring of illegals.
