What features should I look for in a digital converter box for my TV?

Are there features I should look for? Any make and model that you like? Anything I should avoid?

Try to get the Zenith. It has very few features; mine goes from TV (old CRT) to Videoplayer to roof antenna. Voila`. I got mine with coupons at the local Radio Shack. They are not Zenith but work just find. I’ve never bothered with a DVD player, but the converter box will connect to that also.

The only pain is that you have one more clicker to lose.

I’ve had great luck with a cheap-o magnavox DTV converter. Oddly enough, I’ve found a pretty wide gap in quality as it relates to the actual antenna. My old antenna, when hooked up to the DTVC box, was pretty much useless. I didn’t think it was the antenna at first but after picking up a pretty decent RCA antenna, everything was great. The basic box will give you enough features, no reason to spend anything extra IMO.

I just checked. Mine is also el cheapo from DishTV – that our local Radio Shack is affiliated with. Old antenna and old TV (both from 1986.)
