I want to get a laptop that is affordable and will allow me to play pc games on it. Any suggestions?

I just bought a new HP laptop dv-7 for about $700. It does everything I could ask a laptop to do and I have no complaints. Mac was just totally out of my budgetary constraints…
I searched for over two months for an affordable laptop that could play modern games. If you’re willing to take 1 hour battery life and a host of other problems, you might (maybe) be able to find one on sale on some backwater site, but I really wouldn’t recommend that. I ended up just giving up and buying a netbook that was way cheaper than anything I would have bought and does 95% of the things I wanted it to do.
I suppose it would depend on just what sort of games you want to play. If you want to play the latest and greatest, don’t expect to spend less than $1000. Here is a search for all laptops with a dedicated video card at newegg.com.
