When someone adds you to their Fluther, do you feel compelled to do the same?

Pretty much. I like to return the lurve.

Unless they have shown in the past that they shouldn’t be added to my fluther.

But that sounds really elitist

I know it’s a nice thing to do, but my Fluther usually consists of people I am close to, talk to a lot, and appreciate their insightful answers. I appreciate every Flutherite here, but I like adding people to my Fluther to be special and a big decision, not just doing a favor.

No. I add people who give bad ass responses on a consistent basis. Or my friends.

i don’t add people often unless they add me – i adore so many people on fluther that i’d feel like i had to add almost everyone – but sometimes if someone posts something especially awesome i’ll just click onto their profile and add them. but i usually add whoever adds me first, unless there’s a reason for me not to. sometimes i don’t realize i’ve been added though, if the notification is pushed to the bottom on the side of the screen—->

I don’t feel compelled to add anybody. I do tend to add people in waves. When the mood strikes, I add about 10 people in about 2 minutes.

I add people who add me which is usually after we’ve interacted; actually, someone randomly added me for no reason (that I saw). I sent them a comment asking why; they said “because of my Field of Expertise.” Hmmm…

Someone pm’d me a smart reply to something I had said in a post and then added me to his fluther. I’m pretty sure it was an accident.

@chyna Wow, that’s pretty funny. Or maybe it was his way of apologizing?

@mangeons Could be. He pm’d me a few days later and just said “hey whats up”. I was the only person in his fluther.

Maybe he was lonely, and wanted a friend, and was sorry he snapped at you, but didn’t know how to apologize in writing.

When I first joined, I added people who’s answers I really like. I find myself more selective now, and I add people who I talk to a lot in chat, or on fluther itself.
I’ve had a lot of new people add me, and I don’t add them back until I actually see them post. I don’t like random people in my fluther.

Since I fluther from my iPhone 99.9% of the time, I have no idea when someone adds to to their fluther. If I check my lurve it will say if someone added me but I rarely check my lurve.

I lurve most everyone, and even my doomed foes get some secret lurve, but I’ve never cared for the feature. I’m mainly interested in the questions, information and discussion no matter who brings it. Sometimes I feel guilty about not reciprocating, but then I remember that I have a mean looking avatar for a reason.

I only add those people who have yet to figure me out. Once you know me…well, you’ll catch on, eventually. now that is as ambiguous as it gets, BlueFreedom.

I am conducting a social experiment. At 3:49 PM on 4/13/09, I have added mangeons to my Fluther. Let’s watch to see when/if she returns lurve.
