Has anyone tried Bio-Identical Hormone Therapy?
I want to try BIHT but don’t know if it is worth it. Can I get your opinion? I tried Enjuvia, but it made me whacked out(like PMS, but worse). A friend suggested BIHT, so I thought to ask my fellow jellies. THX

I haven’t but I have a friend who swears by it. Her docs first put her on that stuff made from pregnant mare urine, Premarin, and it made her gain a chunk of weight and caused her to grow extra breast tissue. It also made her feel “wrong.”
She switched doctors and switched to BIHT and immediately felt better. She gradually lost much of the weight but was stuck with the larger breasts. She developed neck and back strain from them and so recently underwent breast reduction surgery. Now she looks and feels the way she did before she ever took Premarin.
As far as my friend is concerned, she wouldn’t do anything but BIHT.
Personally, I haven’t had to take any hormones yet. I lift weights and do cardio to try to hold back osteoporosis and other aspects of aging. If I start to grow a beard the way my mom did I’ll look into the various options. However, my mother had problems with Premarin, also, so I might very well seek out BIHT. Certainly my friend is an excellent recommendation for it.
@Darwin Thank you Darwin. I have 1 ovary and I don’t think it is working too well. I have been packing on the lbs. in spite of being very careful about what I eat. My hubby would love the bigger breasts! He was dissapointed the last time I lost weight and lost some of my boobs too!. (Men) Thanks again!
Saved my life sanity anyway
I was just reading about this! Very fascinating!
I have friends on Premarin, so this was interesting to read about.
Premarin made me wacko. Bio-identicals were the answer.
I have an appt. on May 11th. 1 more month till I can even get tested. Hopefully they will kick in fast so I don’t have to spend the summer too miserable. I am on the cancellation list though, so maybe I will get lucky! Thank you everyone for your input!
In the meantime, read Suzanne Summers book “The Sexy Years” so you can go to the doctor a bit more informed.
Thanks @Judi I will pick it up. While I am not quite 40 yet, and my hysterectomy was the BEST thing ever. Now that it has been a few years, my 1 remaining ovary is drying up, just like we expected! I will get her book for sure!
