Is there a way to delete on mac that functions the same as on a PC?

I just got a new mac laptop and i’m still getting used to it. I miss the ability to delete text in FRONT of my cursor, rather than behind. so far I can only delete using the delete button and delete whats behind the cursor. do I just have to get used to this (no!) or am I missing something?

I just found this out by trying it, but apparently you can do this by holding “fn” and the deleted button. A lot of functions on the mac can be done in the opposite direction by holding certain keys, so I just tried holding various things (command, option, ctrl, shift, and finally fn) while pressing delete. Yay!
