We get through rather a lot of tea bags. I remember hearing on the radio that they are useful in the garden. But where, how, what for and when?

Yep! They’re great for compost and they smell fantastic :)

I used to work in a tea shop and we’d dump all the tea leaves into a bucket for local farmers. They loved it!

Acid loving plants love the tannic acid in tea so gardenias really like it

I compost mine, along with stuff like vegetable scraps, toilet paper tubes and garden waste.

After reusing at least twice – we put them on a rack near the wood burning stovemnext ot coffee filter and grounds. They smell great when drying and add a microscope amount of humidity to the air. The next time we open the stove to put in wood they are added to the fire where they serve the final purpose of heating our house for a second or three.

Coffee grounds and tea bags both are great for composting. My mom used all my coffee grounds in her compost.
