Futurama. It doesn’t really come up on here, and when I make references, no one gets it that saddens me
@casheroo I have watched it quite a few times, however; I’m a HUGE Simpsons fan…I get the humor :)
@casheroo I will get your Futurama references. :)
Not an expert but more of a conosceur of Bible prophecy.
But I won’t bother here since people are not open here beyond their comfort zones.
@seVen I may not necessarily agree, but why wouldn’t I be open to listening to what you have to say? Have you tried?
@seVen comfort zone =/= fundamental beliefs.
I am good at imitating voices, particularly cartoon characters.
toot toot
I’m also very knowledgeable about living a “green” lifestyle, and I make a lot of my own facial washes, and cleaning products. That doesn’t really come up, and if it does..I seem to be ignored. I just laugh at people using things that will ruin their skin, because they won’t listen.
@FGS What do you mean, “what do you have?”?
@casheroo I’d love to get me some of that knowledge… can you share?
@Likeradar Hmm, well just some basics.
Coconut Oil and Jojoba Oil are fantastic moisturizers. And you know exactly what you’re putting on your body, no chemicals.
Macademia Nut Oil is great for around the eyes, or little wrinkles. It’s very light oil.
Rosehip seed oil is known for fading scars, I’ve never tried it though, and have not had any success on finding it at stores.
I use this recipe on my face, a friend gave it to me:
3 oz honey(In this recipe I used conventional, not raw; honey cleanses and is a humectant)
4 oz finely ground almonds (a very gentle exfoliant)
2 oz apple cider vinegar (toner, creates the proper acidity for your skin)
2 oz water
6 drops lavender essential oil (good for anti-aging and anti-acne)
Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the tv series. It doesn’t make me a nerd!
Also Futurama. As stated by the avatar.
I have left a few things off on purpose, and I am not about to put them here, but your question does bring up the point that fluther users might be experts in things they don’t mention. I have gone back and added things to my profile as they are brought up.
I’m not an expert in anything
@casheroo thanks! I PM-ed ya to stop threadjacking. :)
@casheroo i like looking into natural beauty products as well. Do you know about anything for acne?
Mad lurve for this question.
I am an expert in pop culture but sometimes I feel like it might be looked down upon here…like i am a simpleton for being into it
I am a secret connoisseur of spelling.
@jsc3791 : No way… pop culture can get you far on Jeopardy. Pop culture includes bits of lots of subjects.
Potpourri is my fave Jeopardy category…
Frankoma pottery. That doesn’t come up too often.
@FGS I’m really not lol. I tried to think of something when I was doing my profile. Oh well
I happen to be really, really good at untying knots. I know how to sew, quilt, and knit and I consider myself an expert at crochet. I also know a lot of useless trivia about the Academy Awards, The Godfather I and II, and the television series Kung Fu. Oh and my job at the library is giving me mad research skills.
I consider myself to be a polymath. :)
Someone mentioned Futurama, I’m pretty good with The Simpsons. I’m surprised by the amount of stuff people who like it don’t know. I’m also pretty knowledgeable with classical music and the periodic table of the elements.
Someone (haven’t seen them on this site in a while) doubted my knowledge-ability on homosexuality because I’m still in the closet. Just thought I’d add that I don’t have to be out of the closet to know what it’s like to be attracted to the same sex.
Fantasy baseball
Ultimate frisbee
Enneagram
Voice dialogue
Jewish Renewal
Spiritual film promotion
The Matrix
@Dansedescygnes they doubted your homosexuality-ness? i know you’ve mentioned never been with another man yet, correct? maybe thats why they doubted you..who knows
I am an expert on being a failure, and the show lost. That’s about it.
@casheroo
Well they were being mean saying that I “hide from it”. I didn’t mean to say I was an expert on homosexual relationships, just the nature of the attraction that so many people don’t get. I’ve explained it to many people and they’ve found it helpful.
@hug_of_war
That reminds me. I am a huge Lost expert. I can explain anything about it to anyone.
@FGS Amongst the voices people would recognize here would be Professor Farmsworth, Hank Hill and Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons
I have an unusually vast knowledge of the number 12 and the letter “L”.
@ratboy So howcome Chinese people supposedly can’t pronounce the letter L
@ pwnd! Actually the stereotype applies to both Chinese and Japanese, but I got it reversed, in the cartoons, they pronounce the letter r as l, as in solly = sorry. It is a very bad joke. shame on me.
So; should we now call you LarnYady?
