If you saw a fellow riding his bike on the freeway would you call 911?
On my way to work this evening I saw a guy riding a his bike on the shoulder of the freeway. I know there are some areas where bikes are permitted on interstates, but this is not one of them. This guy was flirting with disaster!

Yes I would call 911 for his sake.
No. I doubt they would respond in time to do anything about it. At least where I live.
I would attempt to call the Highway Patrol first because they can expedite (hopefully) a unit to the location that you described to intercept the biker. The 9–1-1 operator could do that also but calling them about a man on a bike might not be as urgent of a call that they’re used to fielding and they might not place a high degree of importance on it compared to other emergencies. Just a thought.
I don’t know about 911.. but I might let the local police know.
I did not call 911, but I was wondering if I should have. I kind of wished I had the number for a non-emergency line at the police department, just to let someone know.
No…I let stupid people be stupid. But if he got hit, I would.
I think I might. A guy riding his bike on the highway is a danger to himself as well as others. One car swerving to avoid him may cause a pile up.
I would have called 911 like you wanted to. The local police would be the correct thing but you don’t know their .number.
It’s not a smart thing to do, but if the rider was on the shoulder, he wouldn’t really be interfering with anyone. It isn’t my job to police the interstates, so I’d leave it up to the people whose job it is.
Before or after I hit him?
No, while I don’t think it is very bright, in SD it is legal to ride your bike on the interstate.
