What is the worst thing that Chef Ramsay has ever said to a contestant on Hell's Kitchen?
A friend (IBERnineD) and I, are currently watching the show, keeping tabs on the bleeps and we were trying to recall what has been the absolute worst thing he’s ever said.

To me, it was calling the 400 pound guy fat (or any variation of the word).
I won’t watch it. I’ve been in a kitchen with chefs, I know several that are very high strung and to some, they teeter on the abusive side, but from the few clips I have seen, he is cruel. How that inspires someone to do their best, is beyond me.
I understand that to some, they think you have to “break” a person and build them back up, but I don’t buy it. Maybe in the military, but in the kitchen? It’s not life or death. It’s ridiculous to treat people that way.
@cak, I can sympatize with your POV, but for a $250,000 gig, two or three weeks of verbal abuse is a small price.
I bet there’s a Web site somewhere with his insults.
DONKEY!
@kevbo – Very true. I just don’t have the stomach for it; however, I guess they realize what they are signing up for when they sign up for shows like his show. I do wonder just how much is an act, is he really that horrible to people?
The guy gets it done. He runs some extremely successful restaurants and he advises people who are poor at running their own restaurants. I’ve yet to meet a very succesful chef who wasn’t a complete egomaniac. It goes with the territory.

Calling a 400 pound guy fat? You’re kidding of course. Fill me in on the joke.
I think the worst thing I heard him say was to call the women “cows”. Not because of their weight but just as a pure insult. He also freely uses the word “B*tch” which I think is horribly offensive (but for some reason I find cow even more offensive).
I would say though that for the chefs the worst insult he uses is when he tells them they aren’t doing their job well or even worse yet that their food taste bad.
Why is he “Chef Ramsey” His name is Mr Gordon James Ramsay OBE . When did Chef overcome Mr ?
Good grief, pedant alert! By referring to Mr Gordon James Ramsay OBE as ‘Chef Ramsay’ you immediately introduce a context to where one might know him from. If you knew who the poster meant (which apparently you do) then there’s no issue, is there?

Semantics…he’s not doing your taxes or driving a taxi.
In a fine restaurant the chef is always adressed with the title chef. It’s a sign of respect for the very difficult job of running a kitchen.
The problem is people are ridiculous and have no idea the stress involved in handling a restaurant like that. It has to run on military precision and if you can’t toe the line from the general you don’t belong in that environment. Go visit any of his restaurants and see why they are world class. Half of these people should be working in a dive like Applebees or TGI Fridays.
