Will "Magix Movie Edit Pro 14" edit HD video content?

Asked by futurelaker88 (1600points) April 18th, 2009

I just bought an HD camcorder and and Magix pro 14, it says “full HD support” on the software box and gives me the option to start an HD project in ALL available high def resolutions. however it runs impossibly slow! freezing everytime i start/stop the video. and im running a 4GB RAM 2.4ghz Quad-core PC. is the PC too slow, or the software too bad? i NEED to be able to edit HD!! thanks everyone!

Does the Magix software take advantage of all four cores? Some software doesn’t utilize multi core processers. 2.4ghz is pretty slow, but it shouldn’t run too bad.

Also, what GPU do you have? That is a major factor in encoding/decoding HD video.

Magix Movie Edit Pro 14 can not import and edit HD video, but the latest version of Magix 16 is supports for AVCHD files importing and editing.

If you do not want to pay bucks to update it. Another way is transcoding AVCHD to some HD editing video format, like HD AVI, HD WMV for editing in Magix. Have a try Aunsoft MTS Converter which is powerful in converting AVCHD to Magix WMV or AVI editable video formats.

And the output video files has HD quality of original video.

You can refer to following guide:
