AOL Mail access problem?

I have been unable to access my AOL mail for over a month now. I get the (undefined) message “Mailbox not available due to temporary maintence” I have searched on the web and see it is a fairly common problem but I can not find answers.

My grandmother had this problem, as well. In the end, the only thing we could think to do was to remove the software from her computer and then completely reinstall it. After that, it worked again.
