unfortunately, there are many issues and problems affecting each of us today, both locally and globally. from economic woes leading to unemployment, foreclosures, and a diminished standard of living, to global warming, terrorism, political and racial oppression, to name your greatest woe or concern.
what is a problem or issue that you think that a collective devoting not just money but personal time and effort can effectively progress towards a resolution? and, can we as a collective agree upon an issue to commit our personal time and effort to resolve?

I think socio-economic inequities are the source of most international violence today.
It is criminal that some nations have it so badly while others have it so well.
Hmm. Hunger seems like it should be easiest to solve. After all, there is plenty of food in the world, it’s just not all in the right places. However, I know there is a lot of corruption that prevents food and aid from getting to the people it’s meant for… and I don’t know how to solve that issue.
I think there are many causes that we could have an impact on, but getting diverse people to agree on just one may be the biggest challenge we’d face!

was it too early to snark?
There are currently no problems that require everyone to unite, and many problems that benefit from a lot of people doing a bit here and there. Augustlan’s example of hunger is one of them: sure, if everyone united to fix the problem, it would end. But at the same time, it’s also the sort of problem that benefits from everyone doing a little bit, or from motivated people putting in their time and resources.
And this is fortunate. It means that the people who care most about hunger can devote their energy to that, the people who care most about homelessness can devote their energy to that, and the people who care about political oppression can devote their energy to that.
@TaoSan a worthy and perhaps urgent issue but, “time and effort”
