Absolutely! The most recent stuff isn’t that great but come on. The GTO, Firebird, Trans AM! Hell Smokey and the Bandit has died!
Yes. My very first car was a 1969 firebird.
Great memories.
We’ve had a Pontiac years ago. It was a good car. What I REALLY miss are Oldsmobiles. We had several of those.
Not in the least. Any auto line that produced something a terrible as the Fiero needs to be shut down.
why would anyone miss bad cars?
You mean the brand responsible for associating the Aztecs with eternal ridicule? Not really, no.
Did I miss something? Is GM shutting down Pontiac for good?
Does that mean I’m not going to be able to get parts for my ‘99 Trans Am anymore? Darn.
10 years. No major repairs. I can’t complain.
If Pontiac made automobiles that were as reliable as Honda or Toyota vehicles, I would be inclined to miss them.
@MissAusten I am sympathetic to the sentimental value of our first cars. I was attached to my 83 Mercury Capri which despite the wimpy sounding name actually had some decent horsepower in that v6.
So while you have fond memories of that car, how often was it giving you mechanical problems?
@The_Compassionate_Heretic I had the car for five years (got it used), and never had a single problem with it. The only thing I had to replace was the battery, once. One day I was in a minor accident, but my poor Fiero was totaled. It didn’t stand a chance against the pickup truck that smashed into me.
It was an especially great car to have in college—with only two seats, I never had to be the designated driver!
Not at all, crappy quality and stale design for years.
