Do you know of any websites what will show me similar films or songs to ones entered in?

Last.fm and Pandora.com give great music recommendations.

On allmusic.com and last.fm, they will show you similar artists to ones that you enter. You can also use iTunes Genius if you want similar songs (but they’ll all be from your iTunes library).

imdb.com offers recommendations of similar movies

There is also a great program called spotify, you can try out, but maybe last.fm is more what you asked for.

Music-Map will help you find similar artists.

Pandora.com is a great site to find similar songs or bands to your favorite music. I use it daily, and it is like your own personal radio station but without the annoying commercials :)

Good answers so far. I love IMBD.com and use it for most my movie questions. LOL.

Also Netflix will do this for you automatically if you are signed up with them. I LOVE my netflix account.

For movies, my favorite is MovieLens. There’s also Clerkdogs, but I haven’t really played around with it that much so I don’t know how good it is. The Filter will recommend both movies and music, but again I have not used it too much.
