Is the Kindle 2 worth buying?

I am looking into buying the Kindle 2. I love reading, and usually finish 1–2 books each week. I am afraid the Kindle screen will cause eye strain; I already stare at the computer enough. I don’t want my reading done on a computer screen too.
Also, they are pretty expensive. I’m not ready to fork out a near $400 for something I’m not happy with. Is it worth your money?
Generally, do you like the Kindle 2?
