Have you heard fo this author?

I’ve read some of his work and have also heard him on NPR many times. I’m not sure about plot planning as much of his work seems to be stories and recollections pieced together. It seems very autobiographical, satirical, and self deprecating. His characters seem believable, although exaggerated. I suppose my opinion is that I like him well enough.

On a side note his sister, Amy Sedaris, is hysterical. Her book Entertaining Under the Influence is laugh out loud funny! They must have had a very amusing or very painful childhood.

His story about working as a Santa’s helper elf in a big department store is hilarious. I first heard it on NPR and had to sit in the car until it finisihed. Just like their ad.

I’m currently reading When You are Engulfed Flames and find it absolutely hysterical.

He makes me laugh out loud. Some of his stories are extremely touching. There was one that really sticks out in my mind about listening to a radio talk show when everyone was calling in to talk about how much they hate gay people, and all that went through his head while he was listening. But mostly it’s hilarious stories and anecdotes about a dysfunctional American family.

David and his sister Amy are two of the funniest people in America.

I haven’t read When You Are Engulfed in Flames yet and I’ll have to fix that problem soon!
